The piece I DP’d and edited on drift car nutcase Buttsy Butler for my good friends Postfuel is now up on the influx site.
Great to be working with Postfuel again and a lot of fun meeting Buttsy.
Only downside is I’m starting to get quite into cars :)

“Not With A Bang” An Uchujin Films Short
I am proud to present my latest short film “Not With A Bang” (Title stolen from T.S.Elliot because I have delusions of grandeur) the result of months of work and what amounts to a final parting shot to Japan.
I advise watching it full screen on a reasonable sized monitor or it won’t make a lot of sense and you’ll miss most of it.

Sony A7SII – Slow motion test – Setagaya Park, Tokyo December 2015
On a windy day last week I went to my local park to do some test shooting with my new A7SII in 120fps slow motion mode.
I shot handheld with Picture Profile off and the Neutral setting with auto white balance. I used a Pentax 35-70mm K-mount lens on a Fotoga adapter.
The footage was conformed to 24p in Premiere, black and white levels adjusted, some saturation and a touch of sharpening added.

“Twende Berlin” Documentary – Watch in Full
Almost 5 years ago I was the Director of photography on the documentary “Twende Berlin” about public space and gentrification filmed in Berlin and Nairobi (some blog posts from the time HERE ).
Directed by Vincenzo Cavallo and produced by the team from Cultural Video Foundation.
The full documentary is now available to watch online.
Super proud of my work on it as it was my first ever DP assignment. The finished piece is well worth your time, hats off to all involved.
It was an amazing time for me and I miss dearly all the people involved (you know who you are!) massive Upendo love to you all!
Uchujin web address on a rainy window – Fun with After Effects
So just a quick little thing I made over the past day playing around watching tutorials on After Effects. Seemed appropriate given Tokyo’s turn to winter in the last day or two.

(Don’t call it a… ) Drone adventures Pt.2
Pt.2 of my continuing adventures with aerial filming in which we discover that things are a LOT more complicated than they seem………
The video above is an example of what I have managed to achieve after weeks of tinkering and makes liberal use of warp stabiliser to smooth out continuing problems, read on to hear all about them…….
USA 2014 – Wot? no photos of LA?
I took an embarrassingly small number of photo’s in LA. I blame Patrick Ecclesine the amazing photographer and super humanly nice guy who I was staying with for driving me around in his Camaro convertible and making everything so much fun that I didn’t want to take pictures.
His drop dead gorgeous girlfriend and lovely human being Donna Feldman must also take some of the blame as must Sean Bonner for making me all star struck by introducing me to Shepard Fairey.
Rochelle Vincente, incredible singer, muse & my band mate from back in the day in Brighton, UK shoulders some of the blame too. Her Lover Raw Chocolate and infectious positivity also kept my camera in it’s bag.
Seriously, not one photo of the “Hollywood” sign? or of the Walk of Fame? WTF was I doing?

“Katsutoshi Tsukahara – Shamisen Player” – Richard Smart and me for the The Global Post
When my good friend and journalist Richard Smart showed me a piece he had written about the shamisen player Katsutoshi Tsukahara for the Global Post and asked if I’d be interested in going to film him rocking out some non traditional music on his 3 stringed axe I of course jumped at the chance – Smoke on the water and Disco played on a shamisen? hell yes!
Check out the video above and head over to the Global Post to read Richard’s excellent piece.

أنا من القمر – Jordan Pt 11 – Desert Castles
To the East Of Amman lays the great Eastern Desert which along with Jordans other desert areas make up 80% of the country yet support only 5% of its population, a fact it is easy to forget from the homely confines of the Canary Hotel in Amman.
