“Michael Murfin – A State Of Change” – Short Documentary

Recently I was hired to make a documentary about Cambridgeshire artist Michael Murfin to accompany his “A State Of Change” exhibition at St Neots Museum Exhibition Room which runs from March 13th – April 27th 2019.

Michael talks about his life, work and about the oil paintings recording the A14 upgrade project in Cambridgeshire that make up the exhibition.

I shot it in 4K (for 1080p delivery) on a Sony A7III with a Tamron 28-75 lens.
Supported on a Sachtler Ace tripod.
Audio was from the RODELink Film maker kit wireless lav, the Rode Video Mic Pro and the Rode Video Micro.
The interviews were lit using a Brightcast V15 Led Panel with a D-Fuse pop up softbox as the key and an Aputure LS-Mini 20d as a hair light.

The subtitling was done using the awesome service over at rev.com who turned around the 14 minute film in about 3 hours with 99% accuracy for a VERY reasonable price. I’m not associated with them in any way, but this definitely won’t be the last time I use them.

Many Thanks to Michael & Hilary for their hospitality, tea and humour throughout the process.
