John Storey – Freelance Illustrator

When I was back in the UK in September one of the things that I really wanted to do was make a short film about the amazing illustrator and lovely man that is my father, John Storey.
It’s taken me a while to get it finished due to other work commitments but I’m finally ready to share it with you.
I hope that it conveys even a small part of the love and respect I have for him.
I feel truly lucky to have him as a father, he has been an inspiration both artistically and as a man my whole life and I feel so very happy that I was able to make this film.

So Dad, this is for you with a deep love and respect.
Thank you for being my father.

Adrian mate, this is truly beautiful. Having only seen pictures of your dad before it is so nice to hear him speak. The gentleness and humour in him comes through in his voice from the first hello. The self deprecation is disarming and so genuine as is the love he has for his craft. I just know that I would like him straight away if we met and even if I did know you. I also think he and my dad would get on like a house on fire. A great film that any father would be proud his child could make, which I am sure he is. Damon

It has been 26 years since I last heard your dad speak and this has flooded back so many memories of the kind, humble and wise person that he is and was. You are both exemplary artists and I think that so many of his personal traits and work ethics are clearly prevelant in your own self. This is truly a wonderful piece of viewing and even if I had never met your wonderful father I would think that it has truly done him justice as showing the world what a fantastic man he is.
    Brilliant my brother, truly brilliant.
