A Dark Wind Blows

A short film I made, shot in Tokyo.
Essentially a love story, albeit a dark one.

Not much more to say, except that the excellent music is by Godspeed You! Black Emperor, a track taken from their excellent  F♯A♯∞ album from 1997. The track is titled “Dead flag blues” and the film contains about half of its full 6 minutes of gloriousness.
The vocal is from an unfinished screenplay by guitarist Efrim Menuck.

As a side note it turns out this is the 100th post on the blog!

Fucking Ace, very you, very Tokyo, love the yawning salaryman and the nose picker. The edit is perfect, goes with the vocal. If you could have made the tie blow with the line “and a dark wind blows” even better but amazing mate really truely amazing.

Dark. The world has been tottering in this Fin de siècle dance for a good decade… perhaps all there is that’s worth hanging onto is love?

It’s still find it a little choppy in the final sequences. The image of the lights flickering over the bike shed feels like it’s strong enough to carry the load for longer.

List your skinny fists like antennas to heaven!
