Franki Webb – Morrigan from Dragon Age – Cosplay Shoot

Just finished editing the pictures for a cosplay portrait shoot I did last week.
Thought I’d share a few here.

Franki Webb is an English cosplayer who makes all her own costumes.
For this shoot she was dressed as Morrigan from the video game Dragon Age.

It was a fun shoot at a small studio in Ikebukuro which apparently is very popular with the cosplay crowd.
(and to top it off we went for a really nice Mexican afterwards;-)

(The obligatory middle finger photo which I always ask everyone I shoot to do ;-)

    Beautiful photos and costume.

That said, though, I think that using this short a focal length makes it seem a little like we are invading the model’s space. The face is slightly too round, the depth of field slightly too short, and i feel like i have to take a step back just to gain a better perspective on the scene (on the first and last photos at least). I think I might like to see these photos taken with a longer lens, say 80-120mm.

Or maybe I just have bad eyesight and have gotten used to being oversensitive to viewing things at too close range.

I’m sure some people will disagree with me — if so I’m interested to know why.

I’m sort of lost for words… er, how about, “nice pearl necklace…”
