Nanako Koyama

Morning man (2010) by Nanako Koyama

I’ve just realised that the rather wonderful Nanako Koyama has used a picture she took of me on her website.

The photo is part of her ‘Irony’ series and was taken shortly after I’d woken up and I’m sporting the grizzly adams beard that has now been removed (as has the lip piercing, which I miss after having it for 15 years!)

(it would be kinda hard to explain why we are in a hotel room at the Park Hyatt with her sort of boyfriend at 9am sporting quite substantial hangovers….so I’ll leave that story for another time)

I love Nanako’s photographs and had completely forgotten she’d taken my picture, so I’m flattered that I make it onto her website.

Nanako Koyama is a Japanese art and commercial photographer who shoots exclusively in film.
She also co-curates Enlrgr with Christopher Dowling, a blog which highlights contemporary photographers from all over the world.

  1. Like it a lot. Have you gotten over the hair line thing? If you’ve posted this it seems you might have which is a jolly good thing cause I’ve been itching to post a shot I took of you years ago :-)
Thanks for posting a link to Nanako’s work. Had no idea. I guess this is what the Gin does to your brain on a Sunday :-)

  2. @Sean Wood – LOL, no I am so NOT over the hair line thing, but I thought the beard was distracting enough to let this one slide ;-0
Thanks for commenting and posting another picture of me over on your site:-
